Talked with Dries so much i wish i had something more substantive to say. It's a fine line between issues (like, in the issue queue) too specific to be discussed in a social setting and what is too general to be really meaningful. I would have to plan ahead to have a chance of something to say. Actual social conversation well i have no idea.
Nadia talked for a while to a quite a few people, which is pretty cool, two days in the country and socially handling with ease the biggest nerd party around.
After meetup last night, when should have solely been focused on book plans, Moshe, Ed, and i were fixing the political problems of the world. It's the media.
Glen Greenwald highly recommended, maybe i should read him more than about twice a year.
The author responsible for the car metaphor used in places throughout the book would like it to be known that he doesn't even like cars and has no idea what he was doing.
Just booked a plane ticket to San Francisco. One way, but i know i need to be coming back around December first. But maybe to NYC, or West Virginia, and maybe i'll be flying out of Seattle... at the least i'll likely prefer to fly out of Oakland instead of SFO, and i can get a flight from there as of this moment for $170– a $10 saving over booking a round trip, with the $180 ticket there.
And tonight i take off for Montreal.
On the way in to the meetup, Dan drove through Needham Heights - they have a commuter rail stop and a trader joes.
Dan presented pretty well on http://agaric.com/blogs/drupal-work-collectives

"I didn't know they had art on the wall."
"Um."
"Why?"
"It's called graffiti."

All day, quite nice, though the remaining bugs for Drupal 7 are almost all... and universally regarded as... hard.
Went out to dinner afterward, came home, had another dinner with K

Confirming our talk scheduled in two and one-half hours from now, with an important proviso - if this is a for-fee consult, and i am quite aware that consulting is exactly what people pay you for, i will need to beg off for now or do a deferred payment.
One large, slow-paying client means no expenses until i know i can get money to all the people i already have commitments to-- as in yesterday i canceled dealer maintenance on a ten-year-old Honda Insight hybrid.
Except for all the people he knows and what he's actually done, Henri Poole's thoughts could be mine exactly:
