In loving, living memory, John Melançon 1928 – 2007
People who peacefully broke into a high-security military compound to object to the insane nuclear arsenal there (for submarine-launchable Trident missiles) are being sent to prison for this non-violent civil disobedience, possibly for the rest of their lives, as we are talking about months in prison for a couple people in their 80s.
It was an a very stupid and evil decision by the government to prosecute and ask for lengthy prison terms. For shame.
Organizing for peace is not a crime. Leave the people room to breathe, let justice and liberty and democracy have a chance.

**Stop the repression against anti-war and international solidarity activists.
Filed under "Homeland Security" on Congressperson Ed Markey's site. Just using the term Homeland Security is a pact with the ghost of Mussolini.
Why did you vote for the "homegrown terrorism and violent radicalization" bill?
Thought it sounded good and didn't do much? Maybe. But it also puts the U.S. on track for criminalizing social change when critical changes become increasingly obviously needed. This criminalization of dissent is a tactic employed by U.S.-supported repressive governments in Latin America and elsewhere, most evidently at the moment Colombia.
Allow me to introduce you to the Moment of Truth
