In loving, living memory, John Melançon 1928 – 2007
The blog division of Melançon Enterprises has joined a million blogs for peace and should probably find somewhere permanent to display this strange icon:
For the record, the blog division is strongly against any additional war against Iran, Afghanistan, any country in Africa, or any other country in the world where the government has not organized an army and attacked first.
To explain to those people who protested the protest for peace in D.C. Saturday, I don't want us to kill civilians, I don't want my friends and brother to die killing people, in wars that prop up the United States as an empire, to the benefit of the wealthy and connected.
Only self-defense can justify killing and murdering men, women and children in the name of self-defense against terrorism isn't only immoral, it increases the chances that the targeted people will respond in kind.
People in the U.S., absolutely dispicible things are being done in our name, and if we don't act to stop it we are guilty also. Those who actively support the slaughter of innocents, you better hope there isn't a hell.
(The whiffle bat and water gun division of Melançon Enterprises is still holding out for a subcontract from Halliburton and does not endorse these views.)
