Fri: Gave a Drupal talk, had an excellent early evening out, and ate a pretzel from the best sandwich stand in the state

Went to The Franklin Café with C and J - first time seeing her in a very long time - and had a pretty good meal off their mimeographed, provided-by-request vegetarian menu and good conversation, though i think i talked too much. Resolved to do meet again, if we don't all take a trip to Chicago together or something.

Following a Drupal talk i had a lot of fun giving to a small group at Mass General Hospital, i stayed in South Station out of the rain. (Before the talk, i stayed a bit at Encuentro 5.)

Talked with K an hour and found it too late to take the Google-map-identified bus to the South End café where we were all to meet, so i biked into the pouring rain and got there 10 minutes early. Called S back, who had fed the dogs and was now walking them. That's support on the homefront.

J suggested we go to the Buttery something a block south for desert, and as the name predicted there was nothing for me. After hanging out there for a little bit (and getting a call from Mom that a flight was cancelled but she was still getting to the Arizona destination 8 hours late), we got me headed in the right direction (my reading of the map had been right! And Blackberrys should have compasses built in) and i got to Back Bay station with plenty of time – as i guessed, i could have ridden back with C if i hadn't taken the bike).

There, i got desert from the best hot soft pretzel seller in the city of Boston or the state of Massachusetts, especially by standards of honesty and integrity. I overtipped slightly and explained that if i took the change, i'd forget my wallet again.

A very good, unrelated, dream that night.
