Lessons there-- communicate more. Describing how she could control it herself might have made her feel more comfortable turning it off when she left her room. Asking her to turn down the heat in the downstairs if i left before her, right when i thought of it, would have been better than waiting, as i might have forgotten if i had, and she might then have thought of the heater herself.
