In loving, living memory, John Melançon 1928 – 2007
Heat just turned on. Which is interesting because the thermostat is as low as it will go. Apparently 55 degrees is as cold as the house will allow itself to get as long as the furnace has fuel and is functioning.
Been using the same small frying pan ... since about a week before mom left, actually. Most recent use: oatmeal, with coconut milk, brown sugar, and molasses.
In confirming that the spelling is NOT "mollasses" (somehow Safari's spellcheck refused to engage until now) I note the root of the word: from Portuguese melaço, from late Latin mellacium 'must,' based on mel 'honey'. Names close enough to mine.. just call me molasses!
