Two reasons for VisionsUnite: How life should be able to be lived; If we all knew about the major injustices

My friend Mary, sitting in front of her computer looking for a job, wrote me via instant message:

"i want to automatically find a job, one that leaves me the weekends or enough time to LIVE and do the work I love."

(You, me, and pretty much every thinking person from Adam Smith to Karl Marx to Eugene Debs to ... well, i can't think of any champions for the good life today (our advertising industry?) but any people you talk to who still have a shadow of a dream of a better life for themselves or their children, will tell you they want to make a living and still have a life and many will say, in many different words, that they wish to contribute to the world in ways that bring in money.)

Then, after Mary linked me to http://www.awomanisnotapreexistingcondition.com/ but hadn't ever heard, and was shocked to hear, about the insurance plans that cover erectile dysfunction but not all women's reproductive health, I couldn't help but see it all as a case study for PWGD.

me: Wow. My life goal is to make sure all people who give a damn know about each other and about what's happening in the world and are able to find ways to work together to make things better.
Your day has been like a case study.

Mary:
really?

Benjamin:
and my day has been a case study in why i don't seem to make any progress there

Mary:
SORRY!

Benjamin Melançon:
wanted to type in the morning, when you were talking about wanting to live a reasonable life, basically
that's my own personal main interest in having a network of people that can actually set out to make things how they should be
making an economy that is fair and functional
if everyone had a fraction of their share of humankind's collective wealth, that is, the work of generations and living voraciously off nature, for that matter
anyone with your gifts would never have to worry about employment
*even if we left you out of the collective wealth*
because plenty of people would *also* have the time to appreciate and make art
anyway, point is there's no reason for the economy to be as rotten as it is, [except] poor organization of ourselves, that might benefit a few in the short term
but is a huge waste of resources and talents and human potential
ok, really done on the economics now.
and now I am reminded that you are one of those who if you knew about every injustice, and happened to be standing in the right place at the time, would get so angry you would flatten them all
