In loving, living memory, John Melançon 1928 – 2007
The last time G really talked to me, she said she was talking to my father, as the candle I lit for his Yartzheit continued to burn long after I left.
I wonder what he said to her.
Did he tell her off? The first sign that his relationships with women weren't perfect that I saw was "make sure she isn't after you for your money" when I mentioned I thought H might like to go with me.
Or did it come out that he had left his previous relationships – ok, marriages – more abruptly and completely and terribly than G then cut me off?
Reflecting on unreality is fun...
