Belize
As my brother is in the process of buying land in Belize, I thought it would be good to know some things about living, purchasing land, and building there.

This is precious. The Belize government at this time appears very concerned with reforming itself; this is from the Miscellaneous section of The Final Report Of The Political Reform Commission (2000 January):
Concerns about the motto "under the shade we flourish" included (a) it can be perceived as encouraging laziness, (b) it is difficult to explain since no one seems to know what it really means.

The place in which Dan and Eva decided to buy land is the Corozal area. From a real estate web site:
Corozal is one of the most desirable towns for retirees in Belize. Only 12 miles from Chetumal Mexico and the Corozal Free Trade Zone, the sea side community of Corozal Town is an excellent place for business and retirement.
